In this guide we follow the River Saône from Corre to Lyons. The upper section called the Little Saône is one of France’s most popular tourist waterways. Downstream from Seurre, it is a wide lazy river offering interesting ports, good fishing and easy cruising conditions.

To enable you to discover the surrounding countryside, we have included all the tributaries (rivers and canals) leading into the Saône. For example, you can branch off onto the Canal du Centre and discover the Burgundy vineyards or climb up the beautiful Ouche valley on the Burgundy Canal.

The Marne-Saône canal, originally included over its whole length, is now covered as far as Langres. If you wish to go as far as the Marne, old editions of the guide which present the whole canal are available on request.
